Larry’s House is a free, play-money poker game. You can play it on the web, and an Android app is being prepared. Chips have no cash value and can't be bought, sold, or cashed out.
What we collect
Nothing, until you create an account or join a private room. Accounts are optional: you can play without one. The website shows ads from Google, described under Advertising below.
When you create or join a private room, our game server receives and uses:
- The display name you type. Everyone at that table, and anyone watching it, sees it.
- Your moves and chips at the table (bets, folds, draws, the seat you take), so the game can be dealt and everyone sees the same table. Other players see your moves and your chip count, never your cards before a showdown.
- Technical data such as your IP address, which every connection to a server carries, used to run the game and to guard against abuse such as flooding the server or guessing room codes.
A table lives in the server's memory. When the table closes or the server restarts it is gone: we don't save hand history, results, names, or chip counts. Our server logs record events such as a room being created or a message being refused, using room codes and counts, not your name, your messages, or your cards. The play chips you have at a table belong to that table only; they are not saved, can't be cashed out, and can't be sent to another player.
If you create an account
An account is optional. If you make one, we keep:
- Your email address, to sign you in. We email you a one-time sign-in link; we don't send newsletters, promotions, or any other email.
- Your display name, which other players see at your tables.
- That you confirmed you are 18 or older, and when. We ask your date of birth once at sign-up and don't save it.
- Sign-in records such as when you last signed in and, in our sign-in provider's security logs, your IP address and browser type, used to keep accounts secure.
Your bankroll, chips, and game history are not part of your account yet; they stay in your browser as described below. Your browser keeps a sign-in token in this site's local storage so you stay signed in; signing out removes it.
Deleting your account: go to Profile and choose Delete account. That deletes your email address, display name, and sign-in at once, with no request to make. You can also ask for a copy of your data, or for it to be deleted, at jwedmonds22@gmail.com.
What stays on your device
- Your player image. If you upload one, your browser crops it to a 512×512 square and saves it in its own local storage. It is never sent to us or anyone else, and nothing scans it for faces. Clearing this site's data in your browser deletes it.
- Your games. Practice hands against the bots run entirely in your browser. We don't receive your cards, bets, or results.
- Your name and your seat. The display name you last used is saved in this browser so you don't retype it. While you are at a private table, a reconnect key is kept in this browser tab only, so a dropped connection or a reload can take your seat back. It is removed when you leave the table or close the tab.
- Your bankroll and settings. Your play-money chip balance, the log of how it changed (sit-downs, stand-ups, daily bonuses), your auto-refill setting, and the chips on the table you're sitting at are saved in this browser's local storage so they last between visits. None of it is sent to us or anyone else. Clearing this site's data in your browser resets them.
Advertising
The website (not the Android app) shows ads served by Google AdSense, in marked boxes on the lobby and information pages, never over a game table. When a page with an ad loads, your browser contacts Google, which receives your IP address, browser and device details, and the page you are on, and may set or read cookies or similar identifiers. Google uses these to show the ad, measure it, prevent fraud and, unless you opt out, choose ads based on your interests. We don't send Google your name, email address, account, chips, or hands.
You can turn off personalized ads at Google's My Ad Center, block cookies in your browser, or use a Global Privacy Control signal (see below). See how Google uses information from sites that use its services. Visitors in the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland are asked for consent through Google's consent message before personalized ads are shown.
The Android app
When it is released, the Android app contains the whole game inside it, so it works without a connection and makes no network requests of its own. Private rooms are not available in the Android app. It has no ads, no analytics, no account, and no tracking. It doesn't ask for access to your camera, microphone, location, contacts, photos, or files. Your bankroll, settings, and player image stay in the app's own storage on your phone; uninstalling the app or clearing its data deletes them, and they aren't backed up to your Google account.
Hosting
Accounts are run by Supabase, which stores your email address, display name, and sign-in records for us on servers in the United States and sends the sign-in emails. See Supabase's privacy policy.
Private rooms run on a game server hosted by Fly.io. Like any host, Fly.io receives technical data such as your IP address when you connect. See Fly.io's privacy policy.
The website is hosted by Vercel. Like any web host, Vercel receives technical data with each request, such as your IP address, browser type, and the page requested, to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. See Vercel's privacy policy. Our fonts are served from this site, so your browser doesn't contact Google or any other font service for them.
Selling and sharing
We don't sell personal information for money. Google's advertising cookies on the website can count as "sharing" or "targeted advertising" under some US state laws (such as California's). To opt out, turn on Global Privacy Control in your browser: we and Google honor it, and ads you see are then not personalized. You can also turn off personalized ads at Google's My Ad Center.
Do Not Track
When your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we ask Google not to personalize the ads you see, and Google applies its own restricted processing to that signal. Browsers' older Do Not Track setting has no agreed meaning, so we don't act on it separately.
Children
Larry’s House is for adults. You must be 18 or older to create an account. If the date of birth you enter is under 18, no account is made and nothing you entered is kept. We don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18; if you believe we have, contact us and we will delete it.
