How Double-Suit Badugi works

Five cards, the lowest complete hand wins. Try each step: the game checks your answers.

1. The rules

1. The dealer calls a double suit before every hand. Here it is hearts ♥.
2. All four suits, with exactly 2 of the called suit and 1 of each other suit.
3. Five different ranks. Any pair kills the hand.
4. Lowest wins. Aces are low; A-2-3-4-5 is the best hand. Only made hands can win.

4. Wild cards

The dealer may call wild cards. A wild plays as whatever card makes your best legal hand; the game picks it for you. Here diamonds are called and jacks are wild:

Then nobody wins: the whole pot carries over. Only the players still in it are dealt again, with the same call, until someone makes a hand.
